Crystal Coast Kayak Photography

Of all the places along the North Carolina coast, it is the Crystal Coast that I love to photograph the most. Wild horses, oystercatchers, black skimmers, sea turtles, dolphins, intricate labyrinths of marshes, this place is an outdoor photographer’s dream. With miles and miles of unspoiled, undeveloped pristine barrier islands with a subtropical climate to back it up, there is really is no better way to experience and photograph this place than from the seat of a kayak. The lowered perspective, the access to areas boats cannot reach, and the ability to approach wildlife while keeping them at ease – this is why a kayak is my preferred photographic vehicle of choice.

If you have never photographed from a kayak before, no problem. There is no need to have taken my Kayak Photography 101 workshop for this trip as I will have you up to speed in no time!

With this workshop, we spend 3 days immersed in the overwhelming beauty of the Crystal Coast as we explore and focus on wild horses, oystercatchers, wading birds, and landscapes. Based out of the historical waterfront town of Beaufort North Carolina, we will have immediate access to some of the most astounding photography locations in the region.

Dates: April 24-26 and again May 1-3

Price: $550 *

* If you do not have your own kayak we receive discounts through some of the local kayak shops and can help you rent one for a good price.
